2002 Elantra GT
2.0 Liter engine
5 speed manual transmission with pull type clutch.

Is there a 6 speed manual out there that will bolt in (newer Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi)?

I'm going to need a new transmission sooner of later and thought, why not ask?

I have no idea of the transmission to engine bolt patterns.

I do not know and I feel it would be a problem as current engine is 1.8 and completely different design. Plus tranny is six speed with different mounts.

Well, thank you for responding.
I will need to replace it some day and believe there are other options as Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi used a lot of commonly designed parts and was wanting to do something interesting/different.

why do you want to put 6 speed?

do you feel 5th is too short? Maybe try 5spd from HD. It is same engine, as far as I can tell mounts look same, but the 5th gear is taller.

If it were a simple bolt it, why not be unique.

Also looking for a taller set of gears.

Where did you get the gear ratios from?
