Hi All

i have read the topic of a guy wanting to change his 2WD to a 4WD and the odious expenses he will incur. What i would like to know is is it possible (for the same reasons as his was to go the other way With the added incentive of Fuel consumption) to go the other way and convert from a 4WD down to a 2WD when the 4WD is not needed say summer months and so on. Would this have much of an effect on it economy at all? The car is a 2004 2.0l D Turbo model 4WD of course :)

I quess by removing the transfer case and all the extra weight associated with rear wheel drive you would definately save on fuel consumption, I own a 2WD and I get pretty good gas mileage , about 11.5 liters to a 100 KM in the summer. Thats probably what you would end up with after the mod. Good luck
