@guru0006 & @Freeway Surfer: “I’ve been found out!” You guys are starting to scare me. As punishment, I hereby sentence myself to 3 hours of Poison & Cheap Trick concerts, tomorrow night, in Irving, TX. AKA: “Hard Time!” Maybe they will do a couple of encores for good behavior? :grin2:

So no one has tried this? Ok guess I'll be the first. Will post results and any rubbing issues afterwards.
I don’t see rubbing being an issue, guru. Not at all.

I upgraded one size to 225/50R/17 Pirelli’s over the stock Nexen’s that came on the car. Still have them in the shop. Wanted more (better) wear performance (defined: mileage) than OEM offered. Which was good, btw. I digress.

I have plenty of room under the fenders. Using 6.5” Sonsta chrome 5-spokes. Virtually same offset as factory rims. Tires have presented zero issues with regard to ride, rim stability, etc. Not my first rodeo on this tire conversion. I bumped up a size on my 2011 E and my 2013 E Limited’s. Using same 6.5” rims. One size up on both. Plenrty of clearance. Actually filled in the wheel well a bit better and more appealing to the eye. HOWEVER, in all 3 instances, the tires snuck outside the fender just a tad bit. On a dirt puddle, you could see the sling off on the fender. Not bad, but noticeable. But no biggie when looking at the overall appearance.

Now all you have to do is unstack some paper and look for a tire sale. Shoot a pic of the mod when you’re done.
