HVAC: When in AUTO mode only the temperature is displayed. You do not know if the AC is engaged, the direction of airflow or the fan speed. This info should be displayed in AUTO and the AUTO button should be lit along with the AC button when it is engaged. Any manual changes to the system other than temperature (fan speed, mode) should be displayed and the AUTO button light should then turn off.
Currently nothing is displayed unless you change the system manually. You also must press the AC button once to either engage it (or light the button if it is already engaged) then press it again to turn AC off.

Very poor design.

Why do you need to know exactly what the system is doing when in auto mode? You set the desired temp while in auto mode and the system does what it needs to do to get to that set temp be it run the compressor to cool or close the air mix door to direct heat.
It is constantly changing what is happening through fan speed, vent location, and mix door to maintain the temp you set. I don't personally need to know where the air is blowing from or the blower speed as the system is working. That would be a distraction to have different stuff lighting up and changing on the display.
The compressor is a variable speed design so it works at different levels. Now pressing the AC button is manually forcing the compressor to run constantly at full speed until you press that button again to turn it off. But in auto mode the compressor will run as needed and at varying speeds to maintain the set cabin temp.

If I make any changes other than temp, such as fan speed or vent location, auto turns off and it goes to manual mode and then displays fan speed and vent location as it should because i am now manually controlling the system and that's when I need to see what's going on and where.

Also I want to add that even on my 15 when you aren't using auto mode and turn down the temp to anything cooler than outside air you will get cold air even tho the AC light on that button doesn't ever illuminate. There is not a true VENT mode with the auto system. The system will still work get to whatever the temp on the display is set to whether cold or hot. It just won't automatically maintain that temp until auto is pressed.

Did you get an owners manual with it? I don't see a question....just venting?

Agreed that I do not NEED to know what is happening I would just LIKE to know. Personal preference. My Lexus displayed what was happening in AUTO mode so I got used to being informed.
Your not driving a Lexus anymore and the price of your 18 Limited reflected that.

You will get a lot more responses if you post in the correct model sub forum 201-2018 is a LF model

And your Lexus cost HOW MUCH as compared to your Hyundai? Sounds like a pretty minor issue to me
