Has anyone else had a problem with paint flaking away? My car has 2 spots- the dark gray paint on the top fin on the grill, and a couple of places near the outside end of several wheel spokes. I purchased from a local Dodge dealership. The car has 28,750 miles, and I am the second owner. I asked the man at my local Hyundai dealership about the possibility of getting it repainted under warranty. He told me the dealership will do NO warranty work because they are not a certified Equus dealer. I seem to recall another reference to the warranty coverage issue in another post, but I could not locate it. Is what he told me legit? Seems to me a Hyundai dealership should do cosmetic repair covered by warrranty on ANY Hyundai.

There should be a separate manual in the manual bag that covers the warranty. The information on Drivetrain, Driveability, Cosmetics, Rust Perforation and Finish should be covered there.

Your problem is it picked up Chrysler Disease. Back in the late 80's/early 90's Chrysler was using Inmont paint, and some colours were HORRIBLE! (Just kidding...but not about the Inmont paint...)

Yes my 2014 paint started flaking on the rear bumper. That is a huge problem with Hyundai doing their own repairs and warranty them. My engine failed at 32k miles and they refused to warranty it. Cost me $15k; no use of car for a year. Ridiculous, would NEVER buy another Hyundai under any circumstances.

I am having the same peeling paint on my front bumper cover and it looks terrible. I spoke to my Equus dealer about whether the car had any paint work done by the previous owner and they told me that it had none in their records. I have over 60,000 miles and I cannot get the dealer to do the repair under warranty. My local body shop wants $700 to do the repair.
