I lease a 2015 Tuscon. I keep up with the oil changes, etc. Today on my way to work it started making this loud whining noise. Never heard it before. Then all of a sudden the oil light came on and it got louder. I stop the car, shut it off only to find it has NO oil showing on the stick. Nothing. The oil light didn't even come on until it was almost seized. I heard something about one of the Hyundai engines having oil problems. Have had the car just coming on 3 years. Frustrating. Anyone else have this problem?

It's still under warranty.
Have your services been done at the correct times?
When was last service?
When did you last check the oil?
What engine do you have?

The oil light is for oil pressure, not volume/level. That's on the owner to check regularly and it says this is in the manual. If you haven't been checking it, then you have no-one to blame but yourself.

Hopefully not too much damage was done... Checking your oil level every time you fill up on gas is a good way to go!
That was SOP back in the 50's through 70's but now you rarely see anyone lift the hood of their car anywhere, even in their own driveway.
Keeping an eye on the oil levels is the best way to ensure your car will last.
