Went to start my car the other day. When started I had several lights come on the dash and I was unable to put it in gear. There was a clicking noise when trying to shift the gear. The lights on the dash were a steering wheel, abs, emergency brake, eco and traction control. We were able to put the car in gear using the shift lock. When driving it there is no tachometer, no speedometer and no indication of what gear you are in. The distance to empty display was jumping all around. Took the car to my local garage and the mechanic is stumped as the cars computer won’t even talk to him? He called the local dealer and said they have not heard of any similar issues. Help.....

Sounds like there is a problem with the car's CAN BUS, which is the computer network on the car that allows all the electronic modules to communicate with one another.

What engine is the car fitted with?
