During an extreme cold snap in Canada, the driver's seat in our Santa Fe stopped working. It does not work at all and the seat is too close for me and too far back for my wife. It is a safety issue for us. We took it to the dealer and they charged us $150 to diagnose the problem which they thought was the switch. Turned out the switch is OK. Then they spent another 2 hours taking the seat out and the result is they have no idea what the problem is. Apparently they also don't have the drawings for this model to help in the diagnosis. They have sent the issue higher up but no answer yet. Anybody have a similar issue and know what the diagnosis might be. We do have an extended warranty but it doesn't cover diagnosis and might not cover the parts. (It is not really an "extended" warranty because it has not extended the Hyundai warranty at all but is a new different warranty. Yes, this is another issue in how they sell these warranties.)

Is it all control that no more work? Is the back seat recliner work? Lumbar support? Up-down of the front and rear of the seat base? They all have the same power source, but all use different connectors, switchs and motor. So if all of them are not working, it the power source (fuse, broken wire, bad ground..), if only 1 doesnt work and the others movement do, then probably the motor is seize, there is a broken wire or bad connections.

How come a Hyundai dealer doesnt have the wiring diagram? That plain stupid. They are available on the Web, but the dealer doesnt have it... Thats a lie.

2 hours to diagnose a couples of wires? LOL!

Check the fuse FRT DRV PWR SEAT MF 30A (should be behind the cover on the knee panel down to the left of the steering, or maybe inside the fuse box under the hood)
