Hi all, First post here but I guess that's good, no car problems with my wife's 2012 Tucson. Here's the issue. The keyfob activated remote start worked fine for the last few years but now it's not. The 2 presses of lock function result in the normal beeps/action, then the next 2 feint beeps after pressing the key button are heard, but the starter doesn't engage. Same result with both fobs.

ideas?

The only thing I checked was the hood closed switch, and only checked it manually. Seemed to be freely moving up and down. It's so **** cold here, figures it would choose to not work now.

Test the brake switch
Simply try to move gear selector without depressing the brake
If it moves out of park easily then brake switch is faulty
And computer believes the brakes are constantly depressed
Which would keep the remote start from working
