.... I wonder, though, if the problem lies in the alarm going off repeatedly for say, 2 hours, and draining the battery enough that the car won't start. Does that sound like a likely scenario?
Seems possible. The suggested battery voltage measurement could reduce the guessing. (A good reading, 12.6V or higher, would likely rule this out.)
