Tis very 3/4 scale 2003-2008 Vibe-ish....  Or maybe more like the Matrix it is a clone of, they had a slightly different roof line.

Got a Vibe sitting in the driveway. :grin:

well, from my understanding there will not be a 3door accent for the next generation, unless they decide to name the 3 door one an accent and not veloster. I know they have been considering veloster as the new accent sized coupe but they haven't decided on the official name yet. they are still considering Tiburon as well.

They should just call the Accent Sized Veloster Accent GT, or Accent SE and call it a day. I hear Veloster isnt going to be a Global car, and will be sold in Accent Markets only.

Some other names:

Accent GTI

ATI-Accent Turismo Infusion

ARC=Accent Racing Championship

AGP=Accent Grand Prix

AXR=Accent Extreme Racing

There will be the ultility hatch, and the Veloster will be the sport hatch according to an inside source. So I guess this is the utility hatch he was speaking of, and I have been kind of sort of preparing you guys for with those renderings I have been doing lately.

Maybe the Rio will get the 3 Door Accent like Hatch this time? The Rio is supposed to be cheaper than this new Accent. I always wondered how they were going to pull that off with a Sedan and 5 door. Maybe Hyundai gets the 5 door this time, and KIA gets the traditional 3 door this time.

Id take a hybrid 5 door with leather please, and a Veloster Turbo on the side.

Do you realize how many times people have said with this MC "I would have bought an Accent, but if it had a 5 door?" Do you realize how many reviewers have went to give Accent a nice review, but then add, well it needs a 5 door. Its a requested car. Even some of us Accent Purists have asked for one.

I just hope Veloster is badged as some kind of Accent Variant.

The Requests and sales show people want Accent 5 doors, not Rio 5 Doors. The dealers say, "Well if you want an Accent 5 door consider 5 door Rio", and people usually say, "No."

We may be purists but you cant argue with what customers want. Nissan Versa is the second least reliable Subcompact in America, but its also the highest selling subcompact, while Accent is #2 in sales. The difference between Versa and Accent besides Versa's poor reliability is, THE VERSA HAS A 5 DOOR.

People dont really want Versa, but we made that choice for them, since WE DIDNT OFFER A 5 DOOR.

Ive tested the Versa its a horrible car, trust me. The door handles were falling off the first day.

Had the Rio5 been as attractive as the Accent hatch I would' have bought one.

I've driven every econobox model sold in Canada (I work in a bodyshop) and while the versa isn't that great, there are worst cars out there. The swift/wave G3/aveo comes to mind. The Cobalt sucks bad too. Older Focus age very badly. Yaris/Echo hold up well but they have that typical Toyota "you're driving on molasse" feel. The fit is nice but it has that annoying mini-minivan look to it I can't stand.

To me the Accent seemed like the best choice when taking into account both looks and handling. But I'd still kill for a 5 door!!! Dammit!!

if you said so Mr. Accent Planet :)

Im wondering where you found those reviews where dealers are reviewing people needs on Hyundai cars. You seem to have a good data base for reviews :)

Anyway, If i would seen the Accent 3dr before the Rio, my decision would been clear. Unfortunally i didnt and now i ended up with a Sexy Rio :D

Hatch Renderings US VS China: The Cold War of Car Tastes!!!

Additional News:

Accent/Verna Hatch will be made to be sportier than the Sedan, and in China it will be priced just like the Sedan from $11K US to $16K US. It will go on sale in China in December, so we should expect to see plenty of US and China Spec Models in spyshots and scoops VERY soon.

Resigning the interior, putting a new grille on, and LED turn signal mirrors is hardly an upgrade IMO.. it's just different. Give us more freakin power than 110 HP and better torque please (that won't happen, at least not to the degree I'd like, since people that are looking for more power just get an Elantra).

The 3DR Accent's gone for the next generation. It was all but confirmed by Hyundai, as the US market really wasn't a fan of the 3DR since every single family man just simply had to point out that he needed four doors when looking at the 3DR Accent while ignoring the 4DR Accent right next to it, or so it seems. The Velostar/Tiburon will be the 3DR replacement and they don't want anything to bite into its sales and success.

Yeah that's what Im hearing too naky. They need to badge it as Accent something. That would be like a Halo car to get people to come into the Dealer, and then many will decide its not for them, but they look at the Accent 5 door and buy that instead.

If Accent is supposed to be this "Genesis of Small Cars", then it needs a Halo Coupe/Hatch.

This gets GDI guys. Gamma 1.6 without GDI=121 HP. Gamma 1.6 With GDI=140 HP. Elantra for NA gets 2.0 Theta GDI. To make it cheaper, Hyundai just annouced yesterday they will be moving Elantra Production to the Sonata plant in Montgomery ASAP like within the next few months. I read in Wards Recently that it too expensive for Developing markets to have 1.6 GDi in Accents, so that's why China gets the 1.6 without GDI.

Accent is supposed to have a Hybrid too, and its harder for them to package the system without some kind of 5 door. The Veloster will share powertrains with Accent, but not the Hybrid powertrain, as Hyundai is finding it very tough to put the Hybrid system in Veloster.

3door/5door accent w/ stock turbo ftw!! I would love to see a GDI 1.6L w/ a turbo in the veloster. Considering the sonata GDI 2.0T will be pushing 273hp, a 1.6L counterpart would be pushing maybe 200ish? a stock accent/veloster w/ 200hp off the line would just make the civic SI lovers cry :bwekk:
