I have a 2009 Sonata and I am going to replace the navigation unit with an OEM unit. Does anyone know why the 2009 Nav units come in two different part numbers. The unit that I am replacing, PN 96560-0A500, does not have a three pin connector plug under the fan in the back of the unit. PN 96560-0A600 has the three pin plug. This unit was installed in 2009 Sonatas manufactured from April 2009 on. My sonata is an earlier model.

I know that the Nav units have been problematic and I am wondering if the three pin connector was a fix for the problematic units.

The 09 sonata has an ipod-in inside the center armrest. I'm betting you're right, that the four pins connect the ipod to the head unit.
