Wife's daily driver, a 2007 Accent. Driving home from work she would get up to about 45 mph and it felt like it just kicked into neutral. Code P0734.
I did extensive research on this site, everyone said I would find pieces of the overdrive bearing in the trans oil pan. Pulled the pan, lots of very small shavings but no bearing pieces.
Pulled the side cover and found that the bearing and shaft look good, no signs of damage. But the splines in the overdrive hub are almost completely stripped.
Has anyone seen this before? I don't want to just replace the hub if there is a chance this will happen again, what would cause the hub splines to strip like that?
