No clue if the key has a transponder, but the remote will need to be programmed.

Depends on where on the planet you are. If your in the USA it wont have a transponder. If your just about anywhere else it probably will have one.

If the key has a transponder it will need coded either by a specialist auto lock smith or at the Hyundai dealer. Any garage with a decent diagnostic tool should be able to code a new remote. Be sure to buy the correct remote too. They may all look the same but they operate on different frequencies in different countries. Be careful what you buy on ebay.

The key itself that resides in a fob shouldn't require programming. It is an emergency key that should start a vehicle in case the fob stops working. At least in the US that is.

No transponder in key. The Hyundai dealership can help you to produce a key from info on the database they would have on the chassis number of the vehicle. Its possible to cut keys to the code at key making out fit.
And of course Hyundai can supply you a new remote key fob too. Programable only by them.
