This has been a project of mine for a few months and has finally been completed.
It drives me nuts that so many cars seem to have the rear wheels more sunken into the fenders than the front wheels, and the Accent and Rio certainly are the victim of this as well. Sure you can add wheel spacers, who knows what the results will be, more wear on your studs? wheelbearings? throwing your wheels out of balance?
I found a product that there was already a product developed for the Toyota Yaris and Scion xA, and contacted my friend over at microimageonline.com to work with me to develop a rear hub spacer for the Accent and Rio.
Before/After photos
Kits include 2 13mm machined aluminum spacers, and 8 extended grade 8 bolts with lockwashers to replace the original bolts, and installation instructions. Widens your rear track by approximately 1 inch total, 13mm per side and assuming you have the same size wheels front and rear, the rear tires will now sit just as flush as the front wheels. Photos are of my stock wheels (16x6.5 47mm offset), so with some 40mm offset aftermarket wheels these should really look good.
$79.95 w/ free shipping to the 48 states. Contact microimage for a shipping quote if you are not in the continental US.
