I'm guessing that I can fit a 2005 engine/transmission into my 1999 model, but I was wondering if any tech types out there know of any significant issues that would prevent this retro-fit from occurring smoothly.

2005 2.5L V6 GLS automatic motor/trans into my 1999 2.5L V6 GLS automatic.

Don't know if it will bolt up or not, but for sure you'll run into problems with the electronics. Wiring harness won't match, TCM will make codes, etc.

sorry for my ignorance...

can the harnesses and TCM be taken from the 2005 unit as well? I found a 2005 with 50K miles that had been totaled due to a heavy rear end collision. Motor and tranny are fine and I'd love to make it work if possible.
