I went to my car this afternoon - the battery is completely dead, not even the little click noise when you turn the key. As well I can't shft the car into neutral so I can move the car to a more convinient location to getr it boosted. Any suggestions?

Take the battery out and have it charged someplace? Or go out and get a new one? Then have the charging system checked someplace.

You can't shift into neutral because of the safety system. The brake switch has to be activated but you have no power.

Just replace the battery with the best you can afford... it's 5+ yr old... dont cut corners here.

There should be a small round cover next to the shifter. This is the bypass that allows you to shift the car without stepping on the brake, or battery voltage.
