At speeds of 40-60mph AutoTransmission gears slip. Drained 4qts of transmission fluid and added fresh 4qts. Ran fine for a week or so and slip is back at 50-60 mph.
Should I change the Transmission filter? 240,000 miles on transmission. Fluid doesn't have an odor and looks ok (not fresh) after replacing 4qts.
Before you rebuild the transmission try changing the filter (if it has one) and all the fluid.
You might substitute one qt of fluid with a qt of repair fluid like TransX.
A rebuild will cost thousands of $$.
A flush and filter $100 At most.
yes, you give the better suggestion I have experience regarding this I did not knowledge to maintenance car I return to the shopping and hear a noise that comes from the transmission side I stopped my car use Roadside Assistance Services to reach the garage that tells me changing the filter.
