I have a 2004 Tiburon with about 98K miles, which I absolutely love. The car has a little rust on the hood, the passenger door, and probably some on the undercarriage. It has a ding here and there, but otherwise, the car runs great. The engine is in great shape as the oil was changed regularly. The car does not burn oil or leak any fluids.

Here’s my problem. The car needs a new exhaust manifold and clutch. I’ve been told to do this work would cost about $2500. I'd love to continue to drive the care for a couple more years, but, I’m not willing to pay that amount for this car. At this point, I wonder if this work is something I could do myself. Does this type of work require specific skills/equipment, or can it be done by a mechanically inclined person following instructions, with ordinary tools and a hydraulic jack.

How much should I expect to pay for the parts if I sourced them online?

Anyone have some experience, thoughts, advice to share?
