Hi! --My car alarm will not stop going off. Every time I try to turn on the car the alarm proceeds to go off for 30 seconds and the car will not do anything.
We have a 2002 Hyundai Accent.

The car comes second hand, so we are not sure if the alarm came with the car, or was installed afterward. The remote is a: http://www.directedstore.com/cgi-bin/comme...category%3DE_TR (if that helps anyone)

Up until this point (have owned the car for 3 years) we were unaware that an alarm was installed, and it has never gone off. Driving home today the steering wheel was really hard to turn, so we thought it was the power steering. Once home we opened the hood to take a look and all of a sudden the car alarm started going off.

Since then we have tried everything in the manual to arm or disarm the car alarm, but nothing is working.

Any tips or ideas to try? Any help would be VERY appreciated... Would love to have the neighbours not hate us!

That's not factory installed. Just remove the control unit and you will be OK. The battery in your key fob could be bad, that's why you're having this problem.
