I have 2001 Sante Fe GL 4WD. 136000 miles.

4 days ago I noticed that to get the car to start, I have to push the the car while in park either forward or backward until the gear catches and the "P" for park light come on. Then it will start.

If I back into a slanted driveway, I put the car into park and it will roll forward about one to two feet forward before the gear will catch....sometimes I hear and feel a click click click.

Today I just got a check engine light P0705 Transaxle range signal failure.

How serious is this?

I believe I may have a developing problem like this. The 2003 SF 2.7L just recently began not recognizing the desired shift needed. The selector was placed in Drive but it did not immediately shift to Drive. Earlier it had given a P0705 code.
Where is the switch located ? Is it available from parts stores or should I just buy from Hyundai ? Approximate cost ? Difficulty of replacement ? Comments appreciated. Richard
