Hello everyone, this is Michael from Athens Greece.
Got my Santa Fe in October 2004.
Everything is fine so far and it generaly runs and drives pretty smoothly for a 4X4.
Power is OK considering its weight, handling is good too.
Only (minor) problems I had
-with the Dealer (the showroom model had a drawer under the passenger seat which didn't exist in mine)
-and with the DOT retards (they registered the car as Hyundai M1 not Huyndai Santa Fe).

One question though: The hood gets pretty hot. Should there be an insulation panel under the hood to prevent it from geting so hot? Your advises are welcome.
Greetings - Michael

Models prior to 2003 do not have the hood insulation. I do not know off hand the part number for the hood insulation, and if I did its for US models, but being that you are in Greece, I am sure any Hyundai dealership would be able to find out if there is one in their systems. Good luck and keep us informed.

hello
i have been asking the same question with no adequate reply. All other Hyundai models have black insulation padding on the inside of the bonnet. For some reason the Santa Fes that I have seen do not have this and I dont know why.

Well here in the states the OEm hood insulation only comes with the 3.5L engine.

The insulation is a moulded piece (some sort of moulded fiber and sound deafening material) with a metallic finish on one side (the side facing the engine). Its flexible about 1/4 inch thick (7 mm) It attaches to the hood with 14 pins. All Santa Fe hoods have the 14 holes that the insulation will fit into. It isn't cheap, its about $175.00 USD here in the states, so I do not know how much it would be for Greece. You will need to get the 14 push pins as well and those are about $10.00 US.
The part number for the OEM hood insulation is 81125-26002 see pic below.

Its a one piece item..

As you can see it has the opening for labels that are on the hood to be seen.

These are the push pins needed to attach the insulation to the hood. (81126-37010 and 81126-37014)

Final view attached to the hood.

Another hood insualtion attached view.
