Maintenance Interval

A quick question - I bought a new SFS 2.4 last week. When I got it, the salesman told me that the first service would be in December, and I think that;s what the Service Passport (I think that's what it is called) shows. But the window sticker says September. Before I call the dealer (I'm trying to avoid that) - any idea which would be correct? I am in Ottawa, if that makes a difference.

Thanks,

Brian

  1. the faster you get the first oil change the better.
  2. throw out everything your salesman told you. they are there to sell you a car, not to be your mechanic, best friend, financial adviser. they say crazy things just to make you believe this new car is less maintenance than your last one, and look how much money you will save, blaa blaa blaa.
  3. you dont have to be scare to call the service dept, and anonymously ask them a simple question. if you need concrete evidence, as for the shop manager or head mechanic/foreman to call you back.
  4. here is a great list of oil threads that you can use to your advantage. we here have discussed oil changes in great lengths, and often to almost ad nauseum. but its to everyone's advantage.
