My 1999 Hyundia Automatic jammed in "Park" I believe there's an override switch somewhere that allows you to limp home. The Hyundia Excels have a little button beside the stick shift and you push it in with the nib of a pen or a hair clip. You can then pull the shift into drive.

Does anyone know where this button is on the Sonata. Does anyone have an owners manuel thay mentions it?

the "park-lock" is cable actuated, and hooked onto the brake pedal. check, it may has come undone.
