Hey guys! I'm having a problem with my 99 Elantra. It is a 2.0. I just bought it recently. Previous owner says it was running perfectly, but then wouldn't start after a few weeks parked in his backyard. The starter works, but the engine won't start. The ignition relay works, but the ignition coil doesn't. Any tips or clues to what the problem is? Thanks in advance!

So you bought a car that doesn't even run?

The ignition relay works, but the ignition coil doesn't.
I assume that means there is no spark at the plugs then? Have you checked the coil power supply?
Is there power being supplied to the fuel injectors? If you look at the wires on the injectors at the back of the engine you should find that each injector has one wire that is the same colour. That is the 12V power supply wire. Check that there is 12V on that wires terminal when the ignition is on.

If I helped you fix it, why not...

Your support is greatly appreciated
