last year my sonata began to leak tranny fluid. i dropped the transmissin and put in a used one i found in a scrap yard. i noticed later that the problem was the seal behind the torque converter. Did i waste a bunch of money on an easily fixable seal, and has this happened to anyone else's 1997 sonata?

It happens. It's old, and like most cars probably didn't have the fluid changed enough. Yeah, something like that can be fixed easier than replacing the trans. And a junkyard trans is always a crap shoot.

:liebe011: you'll have to drop the box again anyway.I suggest whiles your there you change the transaxle seals. they'll be next to go. An ozzy voice of experience
