I just installed an 1100 watt amp powering a 400W RMS subwoofer onto the factory radio with an LOC and it works perfectly during the day but I found out that when I turn my headlights on, it shuts the amp down instantly!
I connected the wires on the LOC to the front speakers and the remote turn on wire to the radio antenna line which has a variable voltage of 9V-18V. Everything on the car is still stock and the power wire is an 8 gauge, anyone suggest where I could have gone wrong?

Where did you run the power wire and ground for the amp? I would double check to make sure you tapped into the correct wire for the antenna. Try testing the wire with and without headlights on to see what changes. Some amps only like 5V on the remote wire and if when the lights are on it changes too high, it could be shutting down the amp maybe.

8 gauge wire may be the issue for that powerful of an amp.

Minimum of 6 or even 4 gauge would be safer and more reliable.
