Hey all

New member here, My partner has a 2006 Santafe CRDI, it was off the road for a bit as it was overheating, I managed to fix it as thermostat was junk.

Anyway now that it's running, under accel or even giving it a few revs blue smoke is coming from under the bonnet.

Nothing at idle, only under load it is coming from the driver side, any help appreciated as I am new to the Turbo Diesel world.

Apprently it done this before the over heating issue aswell. Car has 268.000 kays.

Thanks

Sounds like there might be oil leaking onto the hot exhaust. It would be worth checking the turbo oil supply and return for leaks. The turbo is right at the back of the engine. Have you been keeping an eye on the oil level?
