I’ve had my 3.3L Sonata for about 6 months. Two months ago the engine started making a weird sound it,was a quiet ticking sound. On the way to have my dad look at it my car stopped accelerating and all the oil etc came out the car on the freeway. It was smoking from the engine. The heat gage was normal. Everything was fine. No check engine light. I had just gotten a oil change and my oil pan was missing????!?!!! So anyway, my dad looks at it after he tows it home and the rod is obliterated. There’s a hole in the engine block. Is there other compatible engines we can swap it out for?? Or would it be easier to just find the same engine and swap it??? I’m lost and will take any advice.

Two options
1 Find a wrecked car with an engine / Trans
2 Find a rebuilt engine 3.3

Good luck. BTW the 3.3 had a known issue with timing belt tensioner. You should have dealt with it when you heard the noise and it was persistent
