Hi guys hope some can help me with this. I just picked up a 02 accent with 45k miles. Looks like it has deferred maintenance . I noticed when I shift from park to drive there is a one second delay, trans shifts fine otherwise. Fluid was dirty I flushed it out twice today using the method of disconnecting the return line on trans into a bucket. Filled it up and drained it twice. Installed valveoline trans oil which is rated for the hyunadi trans being spIII. Any ideas?

if there are no other symptoms than a delayed engagement into drive, i wouldn't be too concerned. if its having trouble shifting gears, that's another matter.

let's just say that for the cost of rebuilding that trans for something like this it's not worth it! don't go digging for something here, you might find it.

if this gets worse, then yes i would be concerned.

good job on the flush btw. nice to hear someone has done the job well :)
