In December 2019 at around 114 000 KM, I noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine, especially on cold starts. It ended up being a piston slap which is a very popular problem with the 2011-2013 Elantra's. My engine required a new short block which was replaced by my Hyundai dealership free of charge with the below TSB. I didn't pay for any parts nor for labor.
