  1. Disable Seatbelt Chime ?

    AD 2017+ Elantra
When my 2018 was new (about 22 months ago, I’d swear ithr chime went on forever, but currently it DOES go off between 3 and 5 minutes later. That’s still pretty long, and I don’t know if it “corrected” itself or I was just impatient, but maybe it changes over time?
  2. Damaged Plastic Trim with Bowling Ball

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Here is a picture with the chipped out piece back in place. I’d have to use crazy glue or something to keep it in place, but not sure that will work. Visually, though, does it look good enough this way to let it be? Actually more concerned about moisture getting in there and causing corrosion...
  3. Damaged Plastic Trim with Bowling Ball

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Thanks. I’ll probably still look into paying Hyundai to fix it. But interested in all options... especially if Hyundai wants some ridiculous amount of money to fix it.
  4. Damaged Plastic Trim with Bowling Ball

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Here’s a picture. Notice the dent in the darker trim on the left? Did that a couple months ago with a bowling ball too. ☹️
  5. Damaged Plastic Trim with Bowling Ball

    AD 2017+ Elantra
If only I could do some damage that easily at the lanes.
  6. Damaged Plastic Trim with Bowling Ball

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Was putting a bowling ball onto the back floor, and accidentally dropped it onto the plastic trim from about 6 inches up. it’s the trim that goes around the entire rear door in the inside. The plastic part is probably inexpensive, but does anyone know if the labor charge will be high? And...
  7. Remote start on 2018 Elantra Ltd no longer starting climate control

    AD 2017+ Elantra
I’m fortunately in a Chicago suburb and no significant transmitting problems to date. Only issue I have with Blue Link is the cost and the max duration of 10 minutes.
  8. Remote start on 2018 Elantra Ltd no longer starting climate control

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Have the Blue Link for free till a year from this March. It works for remote start, but only runs for a max of 10 minutes. And it is pricey, so not sure I’ll keep using it after the free trial expires. And yes... the Viper (aftermarket) remote starter is supposed to start the car in the same...
  9. 2017 Elantra trunk opening without input?

    AD 2017+ Elantra
I agree. Back when the car was new I asked if they could reprogram their remote button to require either pressing for 2-3 seconds or multiple presses. They, of course, said no.
  10. 2017 Elantra trunk opening without input?

    AD 2017+ Elantra
I also bought the silicone cover (before removing the fuse) and it was effective in reducing the frequency of the trunk openings. But even once in a rainstorm is one time too many.
  11. 2017 Elantra trunk opening without input?

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Your problem might be different, but my 2018’s remote doesn’t require the button for the trunk to be held for 2 or 3 seconds... as it should. When the car was only a month old, came out to find the trunk gaping open after a full night of rain. After that I just removed the fuse for the trunk...
  12. Remote start on 2018 Elantra Ltd no longer starting climate control

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Actuallly... am now thinking this is NOT factory equipment. Even though it’s integrated with the factory remote, I believe it’s part of the Viper Alarm I added after purchase. it’s going to be a pain to have to visit the place that installed it, but that’s what I probably need to do.
  13. Remote start on 2018 Elantra Ltd no longer starting climate control

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Not the Bluelink via the phone app. I’m talking about what I believe is factory installed remote start, that is activated by pushing the lock button on the remote 3 times. The car starts just fine, but the climate control does not come on until you’ve entered the car and switched to regular...
  14. Bluetooth Delay... still no joy

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Haven’t tried since a year ago. Back then, described the problem and asked if one of the salespeople could come out with me and try one or two other phones, and they said they couldn’t... because of some legal regulations or company rules... don’t remember which. Two different ATT stores, same...
  15. Bluetooth Delay... still no joy

    AD 2017+ Elantra
"The issue, really at this point, is Hyundai is unwilling to do anything about it. Maybe they know it was the manufacturer of the head unit that year and since have moved away, but I don't know of anyone who has a 2019+ Elantra. Testing it on a newer vehicle may help to see if it was just the...
  16. Bluetooth Delay... still no joy

    AD 2017+ Elantra
. Hello Aarmfield and welcome to the forumThe post is old, but still have the same problem. And although it’s been put in the back burner prioritywise, I’m still interested in resolving it. I find it interesting that Hyundai at least admitted to you that it’s a problem with the head unit...
  17. Incomplete Bluetooth Navigation Instructions (revisited)

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Yep... I do have a wife. She doesn't have a smartphone yet, but my Iphone works fine in her 2017 Sentra and in every other car I've ever been in ---including rental cars. So... even if it IS the phone's fault, the other carmakers apparently have software that compensates for it. Have...
  18. Incomplete Bluetooth Navigation Instructions (revisited)

    AD 2017+ Elantra
My 2018 Elantra Ltd is now about 15 months old with 20,000 miles, and I've learned to overlook a couple of flaws, and am mostly happy with the car. But in the first few months of ownership I posted about a problem between the navigation apps on my Iphone 5Se and the car's Bluetooth execution...
  19. Disable Seatbelt Chime ?

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Actually... have not knowingly addressed this problem and yet it seems to have fixed itself. Chime goes sounds if belts not fastened and takes at least a minute or two, but DOES eventually silence itself. No idea HOW or WHY this is no longer a problem, but it’s ok now.
  20. Wiper Blade Holder separates from arm

    AD 2017+ Elantra
Yes...I like the change in the seasons and would not want to live in a place without winter. BUT... this past one has been nutz. Confession time here... I have (on other cars AND on my 2018 Elantra) used the wipers in a fit of severe laziness with several inches of snow on them. Depending...
