  1. 2009 1.4 i20 PB rear axle metal/flexi brake pipe.

As above, Blue Print part number ADG053319 is part 58738D in the above diagram. Thanks All! What's the best way to stem the brake fluid flow when changing the hose?
  2. 2009 1.4 i20 PB rear axle metal/flexi brake pipe.

    i20 Forum
Looking at the diagram with all the red print part numbers, part 58738D looks to be the pipe I need because the rigid section has the S bend. From the diagram though, it looks to be on the n/s rather then the o/s.

The one I'm referring to is fixed in a bracket on the rear axle beam and runs towards the front of the car. I'll get under the car and take a photo or two.

O/S pipe Its front end, basically a square S shape, and rear is a flexi section, about 9" long, junctions to a pipe in a bracket on the rear axle. Is the pipe available aftermarket?

    i20 Forum
I forgot to ask, does anyone know the torques for the horizontal and vertical bush bolts?

I've fitted a MOOG brand suspension arm which seems decent quality. A local motor factor had it in stock. Had to get the car tracked of course but all now seem well. Thanks All for posting! A quote from the MOOG website, "MOOG® was founded in the USA in 1919 and was launched in Europe in 2001...
  8. n/s front lower suspension arm

The problem, I believe, is that the parts are actually 3rd party manufactured and the brands are merely distributors. I suppose the solution is to go a main dealer and pay their prices or research who has the contract with the car brand to manufacture their parts and buy from them. Mann, for...

Spent yesterday trying to fit the new ball joint but a complete waste of time. The base of the ball joint is splined but the part I received was not so simply would not fit. I'm sending it back for refund and have informed the part manufacturer about the error. I'm going to get a replacement...

Thanks for the above diagram! Its when I looked on the Borg & Beck website under Front Suspension parts for the i20, I learnt the ball joint is available as a separate item. If its to press in to the arm, I'll use the trolley jack as a press.

    i20 Forum
There's no play on the joint yet but the rubber boot has a big split in it so its only going to last so long. I've discovered that the ball joint is a spline fit in the arm and retained by a circlip, so have ordered a ball joint.
  12. Headlamp beam adjuster

    i20 Forum
I understand what you mean now. No, not electric, just bog stand headlamps. Looks like I have to source a new unit if the adjuster mechanism is broken.
  13. Headlamp beam adjuster

Is the actuator a separate part to the adjuster? All I know is the vertical adjustment is not working when I turn the adjuster nut.

2009 1.4 i20 Sadly the boot for strut ball joint has split and appears to be pressed into the arm rather than bolted. Does it require a whole new arm?

Do the ones or the ix20 fit the i20? None listed on ebay for the i20 that I can see.
  16. Battey Earth Cable

    i20 Forum
I would have thought if the engine bay heat was a issue, the battery makers would have been making the battery cases from thermally insulating material years ago! Andrew Page stock their own brand batteries and Yuasa brand, at least at my local branch!
  17. Battey Earth Cable

    i20 Forum
I'm curious! Why do Hyundai wrap the car battery in a fibre jacket?
  18. Battey Earth Cable

    i20 Forum
Went to the local Andrew Page branch for a battery test. The tester displayed "not serviceable" and quoted a 34% output. Got a Yuasa brand battery there and then and the engine is cranking noticeably quicker with the battery fitted. May still put an engine block to battery earth cable on.
  19. Battey Earth Cable

    i20 Forum
2009 1.4 Looked at it today and the only earth cable is the battery post to the inner wing. Any harm running an additional earth cable from engine direct to the battery? Where do I find the existing engine earth cable? The car had a click click click solenoid on starting last weekend and was...
