Electrical diagram (ETM) available offline

I created a simpler version of the hyundaitechinfo ETM (electrical) manual which can be kept on your computer. It can be downloaded from here. It's 27meg to download, 70meg on disk.

Unzip and view the README_1st file. There are a couple caveats if you use Internet Explorer or Google Chrome (probably Safari too). It works fine with Firefox 20.

The links within the SVG files are enabled. You can click on a diagram's reference to another diagram (or connector) and it will show it in a new window. It's not pretty. Just designed to access the information as easily as possible.

It's important to familiarize yourself with the CTRL + (and -) keys on your browser to zoom in (and out). The SVG diagrams can initialize a bit small. Especially the connector diagrams (they're in no uniform size from Hyundai). So, it's imperative to use CTRL + to zoom in.

I've automated most of the process to create this. I'll create one for the 2012 after I get some feedback that this works for others. (I might be persuaded to create other models/years.).
KDM likes this.

2012 and updated 2013

- I updated the 2013. I fixed a couple of bugs in the javascript. If you downloaded it already, you should probably grab the latest copy. It's dated 20130426.
- It wasn't showing related "Service Tips", for example the MFI which has 15 related pages.
- It used an incorrect title for popup diagram windows.

- I added the 2012 ETM manual. From what I can tell, the material (filenames, directory path on the Hyundai server) is the same as 2013. But, this is exactly what you'd get if you viewed it online.

- The README_1st file contains a suggestion for Firefox.
- I noticed Firefox's +/- zoom will zoom all the windows displaying something from the same URL. If you you three popup connectors displayed, and CTRL + one of them, all three zoom. There's a way to stop this.

It should be pretty stable now. I thought about adding zooming through javascript. But, the browser +/- feature is probably good enough.

Glad to hear it. I got so tired of Hyundai's site. Especially the timeout. I'd look at a wiring diagram, spend 10 minutes under the dash, return to the computer and have to login to Hyundai again (navigate back to where I was, etc.).

I'm automating collecting the "shop" manual. That's a lot easier.

I might try to grab non-RB "ETM" manuals. That might be more work than I want to do for awhile. I looked at the 2011 MC. The structure is different. The RB manuals separate diagrams, component locations, etc. into their own categories. The MC doesn't. I'd have to make my automation more flexible to figure things out as it goes along.

Or just use AdBlock Plus or uBlock. Both are extensions (addons) for your browser which block ads. All the competing "click here" notices should disappear leaving you with the one valid download button. This is one reason I regrettably chose that file host. I use an ad blocker and didn't realize all the predatory ads existed.

One thing to keep in mind if resorting to this solution, sites like hyundai-forum depend on ad revenue. If you like a site you should exempt it from blocking. The add ons have a feature to do this.

The files I uploaded were ordinary .zip files. As long as you don't download a .exe file, it should be ok. (The .zip file should contain no .exe files either.).

(It's mostly a non-issue now. That filehost expires files after a month of no downloads. I don't know what's still there now and won't be uploading them again. I figure those with the files for their particular model will find ways to share them with others. The files on that filehost service will eventually disappear.).

Download this file at your own risk, as with anything on the net it could possibly harm your computer
