I found what I thought to be a pretty well-versed installation tech at Best Buy who understood the complexity of upgrading the Bose premium Soundsystem in the Hyundai. He said the biggest concern is that the Bose system has electronic crossover is that output only certain frequencies to certain speakers and those speakers are acoustically designed to respond extremely well to those frequencies meaning adding an aftermarket amp even on the speaker in Hi level input would not lead to go to speaker response.
The technician went on to listen to the existing premium sound and was very impressed with both the clarity and the loudness. We finally agreed to add a mono amplifier to a 10 inch subwoofer in the trunk. This would provide the extra bottom that the 9 inch oval subwoofer mounted in the rear deck just cannot reproduce.
With the upgrade completed I am super impressed with the audio and love the fact that I did not have to interfere with any of the infotainment electronics XYZ.
