thanks, I thought it might be the fuel filter but glad to get backup.
I don't see any water drain on it?

2006 Santa Fe Mk II. 2.2 crdi sunroof, leather, 7 seats, manual. LHD. shiny topsides, lots of rust below

it's s bobcat 453 says it takes fuel filter 3885315 which according to bobcarzone is inline. however it looks like there is a generic steel inline filter whereas the pn comes up in a Google image search as a screw on filter. needless to say, I have no manual...

there's a screw on filter 51610 on it now. but I dunno if it's oil, fuel or hydraulic! ah just found out it's hydraulic

What's this knob for?

fuel filter was the problem. fixed now
anyone got any idea what this knob is for? see pic. it's between the injector return line and the pump. i dont have a manual. is it supposed to be open when motor is running and closed when off? or does it have a special purpose? I've never seen one on a diesel car.
