Front Passenger Suspension Noise

Hello all, my '09 2.4GLS has a creaking/squeaking noise in the front passenger suspension. It started very intermittently about a year ago when I hit a bump and now it's making the noise any time my car is moving. I had it looked at about 2 months ago and they couldn't find anything wrong with the suspension or steering.

It didn't happen in colder weather or when it's wet outside which could be a clue. Does anyone else have this issue? I'm getting to the point where I'm afraid my wheel is going to fall off

No, it's not shaking at the moment. I'm thinking about pulling the wheel off today and having a look.

I have no idea what a squeak or creak looks like with the wheel on or off.
Good luck.

Have you had the upper and lower control arms looked at? I know when my front passenger side was squeaking it turned out the lower control arm was shot.

Louder on big bumps?? Any additional symptoms for us to go off of?

My 2006 Sonata Upper Control Arms were shot at 85k miles. Made awful sound mainly when going over speed bumps or hitting a pothole. Replaced them with Beck and Arnley's off of Amazon and ran great for the next 70k miles until i finally sold the car last year. All Sonata's in this model range will have UCA problems before 100k miles I believe.

My mechanic looked at the suspension but didn't see anything wrong. I don't know what was involved, he said everything was tight. It did get louder on bigger bumps but the rest of the time, it's squeaking down the road.

I think vtroadster might be right. I sprayed down the doughnuts with some WD-40 and that seems to fixed it for now. I will know when I drive for a few days.

I had the same issue and replaced the control arms. Can't remember if it was upper or lower but many had this problem here. What is happening when you spray down the strut tower you are lubricating the offending control arm. When the bushing on top of the strut goes you will hear a dribbling, like a basketball, when you hit a bump. I just had my struts replaced to the tune of $600.00 that's how I know this.

Replaced the lower ball joint on the right side like 3 months apart. Bad 1st one but with 5000 miles added it is still good.

120,000 miles and going strong.
