    Veracruz Forum
Does anybody know which aftermarket oil filters are the best for VCs? I've read that certain ones cause the engine knock. Any information who makes Hyundai's genuine oil filters? Thanks

I know that there is a PCM software update available that supposedly helps to resolve some transmission related issues. Search for the corresponding TSBs. Forget about the "lifetime fluid". You do not need a flush, ask the mechanic you trust to do a drain and refill. Buy genuine Hyundai ATF...

That is generally true, and I agree, it is a good idea to have PCV valve inspected/replaced. However, "strange" is that the leak develops only above the alternator. This is well known design flaw and is the reason of the recall. People have had this problem multiple times even on new VCs.

silvertimber, keep us posted about the outcome of your battle and good luck. The valve cover gasket on my VC failed again (after 2 months / 6k miles). Poor quality job, it was obvious that leak was from the valve cover (easy to visually examine it with a mirror). Dealer replaced it again for...
  14. Timing Cover Oil Leak

    Veracruz Forum
If you have a proof that the timing cover can also leak onto the alternator, I would suggest definitely contacting to Transport Canada with details, they may start investigation. The nature of a problem may be very similar, why should not be it covered, because it is more expensive?
  15. Timing Cover Oil Leak

    Veracruz Forum
In my case, dealership inspected and found that both timing cover gasket and valve cover gasket were leaking. However, they said that the leak onto the alternator can not be from the timing cover. I called Hyundai Canada and made them aware that even though the oil leak recall was completed on...
