No, your info was accurate. The coil driver in the Hyundai ignition system is still inside the PCM (it's only a 2 wire coil). I guess they have a diode between the primary & secondary windings to stop back EMF from the secondary filed collapse getting back to the PCM.

Lucky with being able to save the knees. I was very surprised how many people in the hospital had knee operations. I would say 4 knees to 1 hip. Doctor did say it probably wont be long before the next one needs doing but I figure comparing to the left it's about 5 years away but what can you do. My work for 30 odd years was a mixture of what I call white/blue. Trade teaching where you spend a lot of time on the paperwork side but still a bit on the practical so as far as health goes it was a good job. Since retiring from full time I only do manual work but not much of that. Just a wind-down to keep me interested.

My brother had both hips replaced. He's not running any marathons, but get around just fine and without all that pain of worn out joints. Myself, I've been lucky. Knees started bothering me in my 30's and doctor said I'd someday need knee replacements. But, I've been careful in protecting my knees since then. I'll be 70 next year and can still walk a few miles without pain. Think I've got a good chance of never needing replacements. Of course, my brother did manual labor all his life while I did white collar work which is much easier on a person's body.
