2015+ Sonata 2.4L (non - turbo) Oil Change Interval ?

For average driving conditions with mostly suburban driving and some occasional highway runs - how many miles are you running per oil change with synthetic or synthetic blend oil ? I've never run more than 5K miles with 5W30 synthetic oil - but may drop back to 4K miles which means I'll be changing the oil closer to 3 times per year instead of 2 in my '17 Sonata 2.4L . I'm not having any issues with my 2.4L and the oil seems to level out in color after approx. 2K miles ...

Waste of time and money, change 7500 miles with good old dino oil.
Guess the can of worms is now open.

When I had my 2013 non-turbo, I ran Mobil 1 Full Synthetic on ~6k changes. I stuck to the same for my 2015 turbo. Neither one burned or lost a drop of oil between changes. If you're running anything less than full synthetic, I would change it every 4k.

Since my Cadenza has Hyundai's far-less-problematic Lambda V6, I am sticking with 4k changes of synthetic blend.

Never been proven that using dino oil with 7500 mile changes has caused any engine damage, just a lot of projections that don't hold water.

I'm a big fan of getting a used oil analysis at least once a year. Having the information at hand is the only way to make a good decision on your oil change interval.

Blackstone usually tells you in the report if you can lengthen (or shorten) your oil life based on the analysis. It's less than $30 too.

*generic catchy saying*

My manual shows 12,000 km or 1 yr , dealer crossed out and put 6,000 km or 6 mo....and that is what I do. Oil used is whatever the dealer has in bulk.
Cheers p

7500 is OK for mostly highway driving.
Throw in some short trips, stop-and-go, and cold weather I wouldn't go over 5000.
Regardless, I would stick with synthetic with GDI.

If you like to gamble, go for it lol. Direct injection and a known problem engine, I wouldn't advise people that kind of nonsense.

Dino is fine...that's what the dealer uses and he said that is all I need....I paid good old hard earned cash for my car so I will follow the dealers advise....why should I spend $50 more for a synthetic oil change just to line that dealers pockets.....p
