Headlight Alarm

When we open the door to get out there is no alarm to let you know the lights are still on is that normal.

Depends on the specification of the car.
On some models the exterior lights will automatically switch off when you remove the ignition key and exit the car, so no warning alarm is necessary.

If your headlights are set on "auto", you will not get any alarm as the system will turn them off automatically.

I don't think the i10 has an "auto" setting. But it might have the "battery saver function", which switches the lights off automatically when you exit the car.

My 2001 Elantra had that headlight auto off feature.
Take the key out and open the driver's door and the head lights would turn off
Saved me from a dead battery many times
Had to give up that car. Just too many problems

Yeah, learned much here.
And much of it from you and others here who wanted to help.
Thanks.
After fixing the AC and radio speakers on the Honda CR-V, it has been uneventful
Lower gas mileage due to bigger vehicle
But, nothing much. Guess I lucked out this time.
At least for a little while.

Hope you're good. We are celebrating Thanksgiving.

If you have the indicator stalk up or down the side lights on that side you have it switched to may remain on when you remove the ignition key. this can be a battery drainer if you don't notice.

In a world of misinformation ignorance is inevitable.

I have just been to Tesco and when I parked the car I turned the headlights full on then turned the engine off got and locked the doors and the headlight was still on.If this happened when it was dark I would see that the headlight was on but if it was during the day I could come back and find I had a flat battery.
