Replacing speakers

Hello again...after our saga with getting the speakers to work in the first place, I thought I might replace them all together for my son's birthday.

Back story is bought great shape 2010 Getz but speakers cut out. Found out back speakers had a short so disconnected them and front now work.

My question is, what type of speakers do I need for a basic plug in and go with no modifications? Do the tweeters need to be replaced as well? I was hoping to just unplug the old speakers and drop some new ones in as easy as possible.

TIA

They're 6" 1/2 size speakers and the tweeters don't need to be replaced, you need to bypass the stock connector on the speaker cable as no aftermarket speakers use them, you splice them, solder the wires but usually the aftermarket speakers come with a universal "plug" use for all aftermarket speakers. The only other thing is the mounting holes don't always line up and you just need to drill a new hole (new speakers usually come with new screws). Requires little amount of modification but I don't think there's such thing as a direct fit for the Getz. Don't let the throw you off, it's definitely worth the upgrade I'll try to find some photos If I still have some.

One more question. Do I get component or coaxial speakers?

I know it's probably a dumb question and really, my son should be doing this himself but now I'm a mum on a mission...LOL. I know nothing about cars or car audio and I'm determined to get this sorted I managed to replace the head unit which was surprisingly easy so I'm hoping this isn't too hard.
Don't think I'll even bother with the rear speakers though. Being a 2 door it looks like a major ordeal getting to them.

Installed 6.5” Rockford Fosgate and they are the loudest speaker I’ve heard.

If you're not planning on doing a massive audio upgrade, head to Supercheap you can grab those Sony ones I showed above or these JVC ones both come in 6.5" and I've had both, they're coaxial I'm pretty sure but the JVC one I think are a tiny bit better

Job is done. Thanks for your help. We ended up going with these since they were on sale and even though they're cheap, they sound way better than the stock ones. We might do the back but it looks like a PITA to get the panel off since it's a 3 door.
