2014 SFS 2.0T (2nd highest trim level) is about $22,000-23,000 here.
Brand new 2017 SFS 2.0 T (same trim level) was closer to $33,000 here.

At least last year when my roomate checked around. Obviously things will vary a bit. A 2018 now (none of our local places have a 2017 SFS 2.0 T any more) may be a tad more.

But I'd agree that a 2015 would be better (at least in terms of the engine recall), but I've not looked up the reliability of that model year compared to others (although unfortunately the SFS and Sante Fe both get lumped in the aggregate data, so it's hard to tell sometimes).

My 18 SFS Sport Ultimate was $31,728. All things considered...I get a brand new car, full warranty, 3 years of BlueLink, 3 months of Sirius, air conditioned seats and all the latest and greatest gadgets. I think that is well worth an extra 100-150/month. Since the 2019 models are coming out you can probably get a better deal than I did.

From back in my Sonata days, I thought that the 2.0t engines started getting orange dippers prior to the recalls for that model. It's the same engine in the SFS so maybe they had a smaller amount with yellow.

Santa Fe sport production would have been in 2012 vs late 2011 for the turbo Sonata so less of the bad engines would have gone into the Santa Fe. Theoretically

Op... if you do get the car or look at it again, check the mfg sticker on the driver door jamb. Should have the date of mfg...if that date is late in 2012 that may explain.
