2018 Elantra SEL vs '15 Elantra Sport (GDI) engine?

Does anyone know of any known problems/benefits of the 2018 Elantra SEL 2.0 (Nu-Mpi) engines vs the 2015 Elantra Sport 2.0 (Nu-GDI) 173hp model?

Buying soon, all help is appreciated

I have an '18 Elantra, GDI regardless of manufacturer has inherent problems with intake valve crud build up, fuel dilution of oil if vehicle is driven on short trips, sooty exhaust and sooty oil, and expensive high pressure fuel pump that is louder than MPI engine.

Old story, problems seem to appear if manufactured Monday morning or Friday afternoon.

Read a lot of problems on this forum that we haven't experienced yet, could just be luck.

Also what you put in the tank, only top tier ethanol free 91 octane goes in augmented by dumping in a can of Seafoam every 5K miles. Full Synthetic Motor Oil, every brand claims they are the best but all to the same standards.

Been an awfully wet year, some problems with water in the gas. No Memorial Day parade today, down pouring here.

If your in the cold the 2.0 Mpi takes 20 minutes to warm up.. They did an update that just made the temputure guage move at a lower temp. If I would of known I would never of bought. I did get the update and it doesn't warm any faster. The guage makes you think that. I been running under 26mpg with mostly highway due to the warm up.

If your a person that starts engine then takes off.. Disregard the above.

A key reason I bought this Elantra is that it's one of the last cars left with regular MPFI. I'm not a fan of GDI, with Hyundai GDI being particularly problematic.
