Question Eyebrow Lights

I purchased a NA 2018 Tucson SE with Standard Eq. Was wondering if the eyebrow is actually a light on my model or just the white screen with nothing inside. Owner's manual isn't really all that helpful. I see plenty of models where the eyebrow is actually a light and I kind of like the way it looks. I would like to either upgrade the lights themselves to get the eyebrow light or possibly retro fit. Just have no clue if the proper wiring is there or not. Sorry if there's a previous thread regarding the same question.

Dumb question: Have you tried turning on the lights in all different modes, and then stepping out of the vehicle to observe which lights are on (or doing this in front of a glass storefront or mirror)? Seems like you would know pretty quickly that way if the eyebrows are actually lit. On my daughter's 2016 SE, the eyebrows are indeed lights.
Some have complained here that the LED daytime running lights turn off when the headlights are on, and that when they do, the eyebrow lights turn on.

Agreed, turn on your headlights. The eyebrow light acts like the parking light. If the amber running lights turn on, your brows won't.

2014 Elantra Sport 2.0 6M Shimmering Silver. LED interior lights, cargo mat and net. 35/20% tint. LED tag and back up lights. LED fogs. LED headlights, homelink, 225/45R17 91V PureContacts.
2016 Tucson Sport 1.6T 7A Caribbean Blue. Hitch, tint, mudguards, homelink, cargo cover, LED back up and tag lights, power pass seat lumbar installed, LED fogs, aftermarket crossbars for the roof. LED direct fit headlights.

Yes. Its not a question if they work or not. Sorry for being unclear. What I wanted to know is if the headlamp assembly has a physical bulb that I could just wire up to come on or if its empty space. I am assuming it is empty space but with out cracking open the assembly I wont know for sure unless someone here has already cracked thier's open.

The amber lights act as the parking lights on my model

Think I figured it out. Looks from pictures online there is a bulb holder that can be removed. ON mine however there is a blank slot where the bulb holder would be inserted(Its not even drilled out). So unless I modify the existing headlamp holder and wiring I am assuming I would have to go either the aftermarket route or find OEM style upgrades.

Pretty sure those are built in LED strips, so you wouldn't have a bulb anyways.

Traded the Elantra... starting over!

I believe you are right it looks like the SE comes without the LED Accents which are standard on every other model. I wonder if they can be switched out for the upgraded SEL headlights with out any extra wiring....I'll see what else I can find out online. I have no problem with the mechanical aspect of installing new lights, but i don't trust my electrical skills (if its even possible electronically). Thanks all

I had a specialist take a look at mine. Apparently the "eyebrow" light is lit with a small LED at the top part. It just reflects through the entire panel. You can't fit LED strips underneath as it sits flush on the headlight housing. I ended up having the panel painted black and a new LED tube installed instead. Here is a day/night pic as an idea
