What's a good brand or place to pick up HIDs?

So I have had Xenon Supply HIDs and they been good for the past 4 years, I got the headlight and fog kits and today one of my fog lights went out. So I went to Xenon Supply website to get some replacements and the site is saying STORE CLOSED - OUT OF BUSINESS. When did this happen? Have they been gone for long?

I haven't been looking at HIDs in a long time since my kits have been good but looks like it maybe time to find a new set. Any recommendation on a good brand or place to buy HIDs? Also, I been seeing LED kits now, is it better to go with LEDs or HIDs? An help is appreciated, trying to find a good place to start looking.

Looks closed to me as well. May want to call them tomorrow and see what happens. I have used Morimoto HID's with success on a few vehicles.Quality products with great customer support.Personally,I would stay away from aftermarket LED headlights.

I just called and got a massage saying that they are closed. I wrote them a message on their site and got an email confirming my message. I missed the out of business banner at the bottom too, I seen it after I sent my message to them seeing if I need to buy a whole kit or was I ok with just buying a pair of ballast.

Airforce1, Morimoto HID's dont look like a bad spot to pick up some HIDs. What color bulbs are you running? I seen they only go to 6000K, I'm currenting running 8000k and love the blue tint I get with 8000k

I went with 35watts and 5500k. A while ago,a member sent me a pm saying that he returned the 6000k Morimoto kit because the color had too much blue for his liking,so,you may like them.If you do go with them, they have 10% at times or you can just call them and they will give it to you if you ask.

I purchased from the Retrofit Source. Great customer service and quality parts if you decide to go with them.

A shame XenonSupply went out of business. They were more expensive but had great customer service.

When I did my fogs in LED for my Fusion (and got a relay kit for my HID for a proper headlight retrofit), I went to Retrofitsource. Also a good company. I ended up replacing my HID ballasts on the Fusion with Morimoto purchased from RFS as well.

I've purchased this kit twice: Aliens HID Xenon Headlight Conversion Kit 9005 9006 H1 H3 H4 H13 9005 9006 9007 | eBay

I have these in my 2014 Sonata SE and my wife's 2016 Elantra Limited (with stock projector headlights) and they work great. I ordered the 35W kit with the 5000k temperature and purchased a relay wiring harness separately. Keep in mind if you care about the filament shadow you'll need to do the 6 o clock mod. I didn't care enough to do it. Still much brighter than stock with an attractive white light once warmed up. On my wife's Elantra it looks perfect because their bulb orientation doesn't cast a shadow.

Lined up to a Hyundai Genesis on the road and other than a sharper cutoff due to stock HID projectors in the Genesis, the light output side by side with no street lights looked identical.

That 6 o clock mod you're talking about is only for the headlights right, doesn't need to be done to the fog lights? I kinda remember hearing about the when I got my HIDs for my headlights but the company that I got the kit from modified the bulbs for me. What exactly is the mod?

Not sure about the foglights. Other members on here seem to use regular HID kits/bulbs without doing the mod. It's essentially grinding down the other side of the bulb base (plastic) to form a tab in the middle so you can flip the bulb upside down and still have it click into place with the tab. Here's some quick pics on my way home from work. They're in the projector headlights though..

You can see the ugly shadows from me being too lazy...but any non YF Sonata specific bulb will produce that without the mod. Hopefully someone can chime in on a foglight application.

Your tails look great. I did the 6 o'clock mod on the Morimoto bulbs when we had the YF. That was a while ago, but,I am almost 100% sure that I notched the bulb base so I could turn the bulb 180 degrees. I am pretty sure there is a thread about that mod in these forums.

Ya nice tail lights, I got the same style on mine lol.

I don't think the fog lights need any modification. When the fog lights are installed the return wire is on the bottom. The shadows happen when the return wire is on top. I popped out one of my head light HIDs and see the modification your talking about. I'm able to install the HIDs with the return wire down. Thanks of the heads up on the 6 o clock mod. Right now I'm working on my fogs so shouldn't have any problems hopefully. I'm probably going to pick up a morimoto kit soon.

TheRetrofitSource will definitely be the way to go now that XenonSupply closed. I have been running their bulbs in my car since I had my retrofit completed over a year ago and I have not had any issues. I went with the 5500K kits for the high/low and the fogs. The high beams just have a standard CREE LED bulb since my highs are now useless after the retrofit.

They have a great warranty program. I had purchased a kit for my fiance's car last year and they swapped out a faulty bulb without even questioning it.

Also, MOST retrofitters and custom car shops supply products from TheRetrofitSource due to their quality of parts.

The message says STORE CLOSED not OUT OF BUSINESS. I am wondering if the store phone contact is closed for the holidays. The website still works even to the point of placing an order. Usually if a store closed for good, their website disappears and/or stops functioning. Everything on their website still works.

We will know next week.

Now it says store closed, a few days ago it said out of business all new orders will be canceled. Maybe they clicked the wrong banner or something I don't know. I called got a message saying store closed and I emailed them 3 days ago and have not gotten a response. After looking at the retrofit source website and from recommendations on here and friends, I might be just about ready to move on
