Just noticed today that the rubber seal around the window, a small part of the rubber seal, has peeled.

Talked to the dealer and initially they said that it could have been the tint shop's fault because they may have been their fault.

Called the tint shop and they explained their process and after doing little research of my own and watching youtube videos, it is unlikely that the tint shop could have done this.

Called dealer again and explained to them that i talked to the tint shop and after hearing their process and after researching their process, it may not have been the tint shop but just a small mistake on hyundai/dealer part. they said the best they could do is take a look at the car, but not guaranteed they will fix it.

any opinion on this? would i be able to fix this on my own?

not every tint shop is perfect

in fact NO tint shop is perfect.

tint is very hard to get done no matter who's brother's mother's sister's uncle's brother's dad's friend does it.

long story short i am not going back to "my" tint guy who did the past 3 cars of mine after he had to re-do 3 of my windows on my sonata. still not happy with the end result but what's done is done.

it's likely the tint shop did it because before any tint is applied on the inside of the car, they have to use the exterior window to match up and trace the tint and cut it precisely so it matches good. it's likely they somehow managed to hit that rubber part and they didn't know how to fix it.

just my .02

Roll window down, grab the channel mold and pull up on some and push it in to look better.. may not improve on it too much, they not all a perfect cosmetic fit.. other problem you might run into is the slight added thickness to the glass via the film, and leave window up long time for dirt to collect, then try to roll window down may pull on mold because it is stuck and be right back where you started..

I dunno, I wouldn't dismiss the tint shop 100%. All their installers can't be baby sat 100% of the time.
Like everyone said, Once the tint is cured roll the window down and force it back in.
I would think that it's such an easy fix that the dealership would fix it as a courtesy regardless who's to blame.
