It will be a week at least before they arrive and when installed I will let everyone know how the mod went.

Good to know!. THank you. So they should match my Radiant Silver.

These will not work on USA models. The glass shape here is different. I bought the power fold mirrors and those are the same glass and they are different from the ones I removed so these will not work on USA model vehicles without the power fold mirror upgrade.

Hey Bobb4484,

A couple of questions for you.

The kit from SR has GPS and only works at speed. Correct?

I just bought a kit on ebay and I'm not sure if it comes with GPS yet or not. It has the speaker and 2 indicator lamps that SR shows.

My plan is to use the 2 sensor system as a blind spot and/or rear cross traffic alert system. If mine is without GPS then it should work that way if powered in reverse and drive. I haven't seen the wiring diagram yet to know how I'm going to wire all this up. I also believe the speaker only works with a turn signal on? A lot of questions.

Have you finished your install?
We need to get together someday.

Hi jimrinflorida,

I have received my kit but have not started the install. Couple reasons for not starting is that its too hot and my garage is not air conditioned. Have been busy with smaller mods that weren't finished.

The kit from SR looks to be well made. Wiring cables are all premade with connectors. The sensors mount at the rear left and right sides at the corners. The instruction sheet details where and how high to place them. The control module mounts up high on the left side of the trunk. Wiring is ran from trunk to front along the left floor area same as the auto wiring bundle. There is an alarm that sounds when you place the turn signal on for the side where the auto was detected. The warning led would also be on at this time. The GPS will disable the system under certain conditions such as 2 way traffic to decrease false warnings. I have not decided where to place the led warning detectors. SR shows them in the door wing panel in front of the mirrors. Looks to me as if that requires running more wires from body to door on each side. If you want I can send you a copy of the print.

The price at SR has dropped to $175.

Bob

Does your system have the word "Kabis" or "auto-star" on it anywhere?

This is the one I got. I offered a different price and got it.

I see that it comes with mirrors which would be useless on the Sonata but does it come with the interior LED lights like the SR kit? Once you do an install, please post your results. I'd like to do the same thing. Out of curiosity, what was the lowest price the seller accepted?

This kit does not come with mirrors. It comes with 2 sensors, 2 indicators, a module, speaker, and some wiring+. It states in the pics "Mirror replaces by LED warning light" which in English means "Mirror is replaced by 2 LED Warning Indicators". I had many emails back and forth with the seller.

I don't think it's right to reveal my price since I made an offer. Make your best offer and see what he will accept.

I am waiting to see how it works exactly. SR says theirs comes with a GPS module. I wonder if it's an accessory to this module since it I am getting the same Kabis brand. Any who knows can chime in here.

I see the seller has 9 watchers now. I think he owes me one. LOL
