Dual Exhaust

Guys and Gals,

Forgive my ignorance on these cars but I am wondering if it is possible to run dual exhaust out of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS? I have always loved the look of dual exhaust and I am wanting it for this car but if I can't it is no big deal. Do you have any recommendations for this? I really do not want the car to sound like a farting bumble bee going down the road either. Thanks for any advice!

Below is picture of what my car looks like now ( but not my actual car )

Anything can be done! You may need to cut the cutouts in the rear bezel.

Yes you can, just go to a shop and have them run the pipes with some decent mufflers. You're only looking for a 2-6HP gain probably but it'll give you the look you want.
You might be better off cost wise just replacing the stock muffler and tip.

If I were any better, I could only be ME!
Yeah, I'm that good. and when I Die, NASA gets my IQ. I Hope they've got enough room.

Check out my Garage for more pics and info on all my rides.

any shop is going to tell you they need to see the car.. so your best bet is to hit a few shops to get an idea

The sonata SE has dual exhaust from the factory, so maybe that can just be bolted on. That way you will have a factory system which will last. If you get one made out of plain steel it will rust away fast.

That can be done, but the exhaust is heavy stainless steel and would cost big bucks to replace. Heat shielding, the bumper and cover are different too, so costs would add up. A salvage yard find would be a good way to make it happen, but what are the odds they would have it... parts dot com will probably show prices of every part needed, so at least you could get an idea of the cost.
Maybe you could find somebody with an aftermarket exhaust that would sell their stock one?
I installed a Flowmaster, then a Magnaflow muffler on my GLS, but both were too loud. I'm back to stock again.

Get an SE or turbo rear bumper with the cut outs already there, then you don't have to hack the current bumper.
