Well, I took it to the service center and, yep, it was the dumb brake switch again. Grrr. I already had that replaced a year ago when it failed before. But that time the car told me to put my foot on the brake even though it already was. This time I just got the key symbol. That, and the fact that I'd already had the switch replaced, made me think it was something different this time. When I had it replaced last year they told me the issue had been resolved in the new switches and it wouldn't happen again. Haha! And, of course, they told me that again when they replaced it today. But they also told me it was only a $9 part and easy to replace so I'm guessing it costs less for Hyundai to just replace them every year than to spend money on R&D to actually fix the issue. So I'll just assume I'll have to get it replaced next year too and not be surprised when it happens again. If that's the case they should just include a replacement with your annual maintenance service.
